Running GoTab on Mobile

Run GoTab from any Mobile device!

When an outage happens, you never need to worry about how you will use GoTab. Our devices will connect to any mobile hotspot and we also offer our POS, KDS, and Manager Dashboard as apps. 

Hotspots

If you ever lose an internet connection, you can connect your POS, KDS, and payment terminal to your mobile device’s hotspot. Your displays and terminals will be able to function as normal off of a hotspot while your internet connection gets back up and running. 

  1. Turn on your hotspot on your mobile device
  2. Swipe down from the top of the display or terminal and long-press the "wifi" icon. 
  3. Choose your hotspot network and connect
  4. Begin operating as normal

Sim Cards

We currently recommend sim cards for our payment terminals which will allow you to operate your payment device should you ever encounter an outage. If you are interested in purchasing a sim card, please reach out to your Account Manager for more information. 


GoTab Apps

GoTab offers apps for your POS, KDS, and Manager Dashboard. If you ever come across an instance where your internet goes down, these apps will mirror your displays and manager dashboard allowing you to always have access to input orders, take payments, and view tickets. In addition, the Manager Dashboard app allows you to use all of the managers functions without having to log into a browser.

The GoTops app will allow you to run the POS and KDS from any mobile device. During an outage, this allows your staff to quickly adapt and start using GoTab as needed directly from their smartphones. 

All of the same features will be available from the app including: 

  • Payments: Card, Cash, Gift cards
  • Ordering
  • Manage Tabs: View, Split, and Merge tabs
  • Fulfill: Fulfill tickets and text guests when their orders are ready 
  • Clock In/Out: Allow staff to clock in and out through GoTab

To set this up, staff members can download the GoTops app (instructions below). Then, create displays for the staff members using the display. Click here to learn how to set up a display.

The manager app allows you to easily access your Manager Dashboard from your mobile device. From here, you can effortlessly access any of the functions you typically use in browser mode. 

All of the same features available in the browser will be granted including: 

    • Tabs: Search and manage tabs
    • Sales: View sales and payments
    • Edit: Make changes to your menus and products
  • Manage inventory: Update stock levels and 86 items
  • Employee: Manage labor, employee reports, and user permissions
